Mr. Lasker graduated from Pine Street High School and later from Philander Smith College. He began his educational career as the head boys’ basketball coach at Lincoln High School in Washington, Arkansas.
He later coached at Pine Street and then went on to teach Science at Conway Junior High School, with the remainder of his career spent at Conway High School. He retired after 33 years in education
Lasker started the intramural program at Conway High School which grew each year and became a favorite among students. Coach Lasker, as so many know him, influenced the lives of many students, helping them along the way with advice, leadership, and lessons he shared outside of the gym. He was voted Teacher of the Year in 1980-81 for his dedication and impact made on many lives while teaching.
