Susan McNabb – Friend of the District

Ms. Susan McNabb graduated from Texarkana High School, and attended the University of Arkansas and Texarkana Community College. She met her husband, Dr. Steve McNabb while working at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. She was fortunate to be a “stay-at-home-mom” to their three children, Allyson, Douglas, and Jeffrey. The McNabb family moved to Conway in 1988, and have called it home ever since. Ms. McNabb served as a member of the PTO at every step, from elementary school to high school, and eventually served 10 years on the Conway Public Schools Board of Education.

While Ms. McNabb has retired from her role with the school board, and recently from her (very part time) job at Cross Creek, she stays very busy. She has volunteered at Cradle Care for 15 years, and still does. She is a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, and currently serves as the Christian Education chair. She is a member of P.E.O., a woman’s organization that supports women in achieving their goals through scholarships, grants, awards, and loans.

Ms McNabb says her proudest accomplishment in her time on the school is founding this very organization. As a founding member of the Conway Public Schools Foundation Board, she has served on this board since its inception. Our board unanimously voted that honoring “Mom McNabb” was the most fitting way to let her retire. We owe a large debt of gratitude to Ms. McNabb for all of her efforts.
